Council Leaders Shine at This Year’s Panto: A Magical Evening! (2026)

Get ready for a magical journey as we dive into the world of West Lindsey's annual pantomime! A night of laughter and enchantment awaits!

Our beloved Cinderella, accompanied by her not-so-charming sisters and a host of special guests, has graced the stage, kicking off the festive season with a bang.

Chairman of West Lindsey District Council, Councillor Matt Boles, and Vice Chairman, Councillor John Barrett, added a touch of glitz and glamour to the opening celebration. Cllr Boles, donning his civic chain, attended the ball with his daughter Darcie, ready to witness her talent shine on stage.

But here's where it gets controversial... Cllr Boles' daughter, Darcie, is part of the talented cast! He proudly shared, "I'm incredibly proud to see Darcie perform. The Trinity Arts Centre never fails to deliver, and it's heartwarming to see local youth take center stage."

This year's pantomime, "Cinderella," promises an evening filled with laughter, music, and all the festive cheer you could wish for. The production showcases the incredible local talent that makes Gainsborough's pantomime tradition truly special.

Cllr Barrett added, "The annual panto is a community highlight, bringing families together and spreading joy. I was thrilled to experience the excitement of opening night and witness Gainsborough's festive spirit come alive."

And this is the part most people miss... Chief Executive of West Lindsey District Council, Paul Burkinshaw, and Director of Planning, Regeneration, and Communities, Sally Grindrod-Smith, also attended the opening performance, showing their support for the local arts scene.

"Cinderella" tells the classic tale of a young girl's journey from misery to magic, with the help of her loyal friend Buttons and a fairy godmother's touch. Audiences can expect dazzling costumes, hilarious moments, and all the traditional panto fun they love.

Produced by the talented team behind the 2024 hit, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs," this year's show promises to whisk Gainsborough away to the ultimate festive ball.

Premium performances are scheduled for December 21st, 23rd, 24th, and 31st, with school performances throughout mid-December. Tickets are selling fast, so don't miss out on the magic!

Book your tickets now via the Trinity Arts Centre website or call the box office. Experience the enchantment of Cinderella's story and be a part of Gainsborough's festive tradition!

Don't forget to share your thoughts in the comments! Are you excited for this year's pantomime? What's your favorite part of these festive productions?
