Arusha's MP Puts Residents' Welfare First: Prioritizing Water and Roads

Dr. Johannes Lukumay, the Member of Parliament for Arumeru West Constituency, has boldly stepped forward with a promise to transform the lives of his constituents. He aims to address the critical water shortages and road infrastructure issues that hinder economic growth and overall well-being.
At a recent meeting of the Arusha District Council's Councillors' Assembly, Dr. Lukumay shared his firsthand experience of the water crisis in Ngaramtoni and Oldonyosambu, where residents face severe water scarcity. But here's where it gets controversial: he also shed light on the unreliable electricity supply, a challenge that many might overlook.
"I witnessed the hardships my constituents endure due to the water crisis and electricity issues. As their elected representative, I am committed to finding solutions," Dr. Lukumay vowed.
He urged his fellow councillors to stay true to their campaign promises and work as a team to resolve these pressing problems. This includes cracking down on vandalism of water infrastructure, as reported in the Daily News.
To tackle electricity challenges, Dr. Lukumay plans to meet with TANESCO officials in Meru District, seeking improvements. Additionally, he will collaborate with TARURA to repair and upgrade local roads, many of which are unpaved and dusty. By implementing proper drainage systems and gravel roads, transportation and economic activities could significantly improve across all 27 wards.
