In the episode of Landman that aired the same day, Billy Bob Thornton's character, Tommy, encourages his father, T.L., played by Sam Elliott, to watch The View to pass the time. When T.L. admits he’s unfamiliar with the show, Tommy describes it in a colorful manner as a platform where "a bunch of pissed-off millionaires bitch about how much they hate millionaires and [Donald] Trump and men and you and me and everybody else they got a bee up their ass about." He humorously adds, "It’s pretty funny," though T.L. isn’t convinced, responding that it doesn't sound amusing to him.
