A shocking revelation has emerged in the tragic death of singer Zubeen Garg, and it involves his own cousin, Sandipan Garg, a Deputy Superintendent of Police. This story has taken an unexpected turn, and it's about to get even more intriguing.

Sandipan Garg, a civil engineer by training, had a unique background that included a stint in the beauty pageant circuit. Hailing from Jorhat, Assam, he studied at the North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology, and his academic prowess led him to crack the Assam Public Service Commission exam, securing a position in the Assam Police Service.

The Singapore Connection

After Zubeen's untimely death on September 19, Sandipan requested Zubeen's manager, Siddhartha Sharma, to hand over all of the singer's belongings to him. However, Sharma refused to part with Zubeen's phone, leaving Sandipan with only the singer's other possessions, which he brought back to Assam.
The Arrest and Charges
After a five-day interrogation, Sandipan was arrested in connection with Zubeen's death. He is the fifth person to be arrested in this case, and all the accused face serious charges, including murder, culpable homicide, criminal conspiracy, and causing death by negligence.
Zubeen's death in Singapore, where he had gone to perform at the North East India Festival, remains a mystery. The 52-year-old singer went for a swim during a yacht trip and was found floating face down in the water. Sandipan was with him on that fateful yacht ride.
Sandipan was presented before a court and remanded to police custody for seven days. In a recent Facebook post, he claimed to have fully cooperated with the Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating Zubeen's death.
Apart from Sandipan and Siddhartha Sharma, the other accused include Shyamkanu Mahanta, the manager of the North East Indian Festival, Shekhar Jyoti Goswami, and co-singer Amritprava Mahanta.
